Are Hong Kong children getting enough playtime? Not according NGOs.

By ITS Education Asia

According to Unicef, a child needs more than an hour of daily playtime, meaning genuine interaction with peers and total freedom to decide how they want to spend it, without adult interference. It must also be noted that quality playtime does not include being glued to an electronic device. Only 50 per cent of children in Hong Kong enjoy this amount of playtime, with 24 per cent having less than an hour, and 9 per cent had none at all. Playtime lays the groundwork for a healthy and confident adulthood, which is the key to long-term happiness. Lack of quality playtime could explain the relatively high depression rates amongst teens in Hong Kong.
