In the latest news in the scandal surrounding wealthy Hollywood-ites buying their children’s way into elite universities, the bribing scheme has moved beyond American shores.
The investigation, named “Operation Varsity Blues,” showed that the owner of an admissions firm used a variety of techniques, including presenting the students as top athletes (which most weren’t), to secure admission to elite schools.
In March, 33 parents of students admitted to schools under suspicious circumstances were charged with criminal conduct.
