Coronavirus - how Hong Kong parents are coping as outbreak keeps schools closed

By ITS Education Asia

Here is a very interesting article from the SCMP interviewing a group of parents and discussing how they are dealing with the school closures in Hong Kong as a result of the Corona Virus.

The article focuses on two different strategies being used by HK parents — the first being those who have sent their children overseas during this time and have enrolled them in school there, and the second is parents who are trying to help teach their children at night when the get home from work.

The problems can be summed up by these two quotes from one parent given in the article.

“I feel very frustrated, because I am not a professional teacher so I am not sure if I am explaining it correctly. The first week, my son cried,”

“I feel worried about what this is doing to our relationship as a mother and son.”

This is a very hard time for all concerned. ITS is available to help parents with home schooling if they desire.
