Grade inflation becoming a problem at UK universities

By ITS Education Asia

Research has recently shown the worrying trend of grade inflation at universities at the UK, with the problem being so severe that the official government watchdog has threatened fines and even removal from the official register if the problem is not brought under control.

The percentage of first-class honours awards has gone from 16% to 27% of all degrees awarded in the past six years. The worry is that these degrees will lose their value over time, and that differentiating a first-class award will become meaningless.
