Children's show Sesame Street — which airs in 150 countries around the globe and is one of the most popular American brands — is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
For many 1st generation Americans, and Canadians whose native language is not English, Sesame Street was vital in developing their English, and often the only source of English provided especially for lower income households. The show also tackles serious issues such as death, HIV, homelessness and divorce.
Because of this we would like to wish a happy 50th anniversary to Sesame Street.
