Four Hong Kong universities have slipped in a global ranking of their programmes in various subjects formulated by the Times Higher Education, with some of the biggest drops seen in the arts and humanities, as well as the sciences.
The University of Hong Kong, Chinese University, the University of Science and Technology and City University all saw a year-on-year decline in more than half of the subjects being tracked in the THE rankings for 2021.
While the usefulness of rankings systems is open to debate it is still the case that many potential students and their families take them very seriously.
