Australia is one of the main destinations for International students, especially from Asia. In all, more than 640,000 are currently at Australian institutions. However, some research has shown that while their opinion of their overall life and educational experience is positive (75% happy) that is less than domestic students (79% happy) and tends to take lower scores than the domestic students. Of course the big worry is what about the 25% who are not happy. The research suggests that these students are not getting the support they need, which of course can be very varied but which will often include depressive feelings linked to homesickness/isolation etc. The article goes over this and highlights some solutions.
