The holidays are just around the corner, and as exciting as that may sound it is a time of significant stress not just for adults, but for adolescents as well. With the advent of social media, the back to school essay on “What I did over _______ break” has now become obsolete. Everything is online, in real time, for everyone to see. This means that even when school is over, the day to day peer drama isn’t. Although social media has its advantages, reducing the risk of isolation, it has also become a platform for cyber bullying. Here are five tips for parents and teachers to help the youth in their care transition to a safe and healthy holiday experience.
