Well this headline certainly seems familiar in Hong Kong, doesn’t it?

A recent poll in the UK showed that while slightly less than 50% of respondents rated bullying and unhappiness at school as their major worry, 52% chose their child’s progress in school.

The Chief Executive of TLG, the educational charity that conducted the poll, suggests that this attitude may be more a reflection of an over-emphasis on results from schools themselves and legislators.

Can this attitude really be good for students?
