Stop The Presses : Over 70% of students don't like homework, survey says

In news that will surprise absolutely nobody, 70% of Hong Kong students “have negative feelings toward homework.” Hong Kong, unfortunately, has long had a reputation for massively overloading primary and secondary school students with homework, and the results of this survey reflect students’ feelings about this phenomenon. Homework, of course, has a very important role in a well-rounded education, but if it’s just “busy work,” it may be doing more harm than good. Even students themselves seem to understand this, and interestingly felt that their current homework load was not “useful in learning, developing critical thinking skills, and helping them memorize information.”
