Teaching Resources to Support Safer Internet

By ITS Education Asia

Ensure safer use of the internet by children.

  • The official Safer Internet Day website has plenty of resources in a range of languages to help you teach about online safety with your classes.
  • A popular guide (from Comparitech) to child privacy which raises awareness of the potential privacy risks to children online and highlights to parents/carers what can be done to tackle each issue.
  • Ten year olds learn how to stay safe from sexual abuse, exploitation and other risks they might encounter online.
  • For younger children, Jessie & Friends is another CEOP animated series which aims to equip 4-7 year olds with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to help them stay safe from risks they may encounter online.
  • Children’s charity Childnet has produced a toolkit to help give 11–14-year-olds reliable information about online pornography, healthy relationships, and body image online.
  • Google have also produced a useful set of resources to teach children the fundamentals of digital citizenship and safety so they can explore online with confidence.
