We all (hopefully) remember a particularly nice day when a forward-thinking teacher took the class outside for a lesson.
A current trend in the UK is that of “beach school,” which encourages teachers to take students to the beach to learn in nature, out of the confines of the classroom. This is an extension of the “forest school” movement, an outdoor learning concept which teaches students elf-esteem, team work and how to value nature.
According to the proponents of beach school, the benefits are numerous: improved sleep, appetites, and friendships.
