Tips for a happy and healthy summer

Now that summer has arrived, here are some tips for a healthy summer offered by Dr. Sarah Laibstai.

Tip #1: Find fun ways to incorporate exercise into daily life. Promoting fun activities is key to developing lifelong healthy habits.

Tip #2: Sign your kids up for a local summer camp. Summer camps can help promote physical, mental and cognitive skills as children are in a new environment and make friends while pursuing their passions. Check out the ITS summer camps on offer here.

Tip #3: Encourage healthy eating. With so many fruits and vegetables in season, it is a great time to introduce kids to exotic fruits and vegetables.

Tip #4: Promote active minds. While school is out, it is beneficial for kids to keep their minds active and learn new skills.
