All three top HK universities have slipped — University of Hong Kong has slipped from 2nd to 3rd, HKUST from 7th to 8th, CUHK 9th, to 10 while CUHK, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University saw improved scores oin the Asian rankings.
QS, a Britain-based education information firm, said in a statement that the top three Hong Kong universities had fallen slightly on 2019, saying it was “perhaps best to regard these shifts as normal annual variation.”
The data collected were completed in August, and therefore the protests had not been factored.
The 11 indicators used to compile the rankings include academic and employer reputation; the ratio of students to full-time academic staff; the number of citations per paper and papers per faculty; as well as the proportion of inbound and outbound exchange students.
