UK regulator warns universities not to use 'inappropriate inducements' to attract students

By ITS Education Asia

The higher education regulator in the UK, the Office for Students, has warned universities to avoid using misleading advertisements and financial sweeteners in a bid to attract students.

Nicola Dandridge, the OfS’s chief executive, said “There can be no place for false and misleading advertising in how universities sell themselves to prospective students.” The office encouraged schools to stick to academic criteria rather than a “a sales pitch with questionable incentives.”
