The impacts of the pandemic continue to wreak havoc on academic institutions around the globe. The BBC reports universities and colleges in England face "significant funding shortfalls and heightened uncertainty" due to Covid-19.
The Institute for Fiscal Studies says fewer overseas students, potentially higher dropouts and high pension costs are a financial risk for universities.
It is of growing concern about what the longer term impact the pandemic will have on tertiary institutions around the globe. The only certainty seems to be that it will not be a good one for many.
