Unisex baby change stations. A reform that is needed.

By ITS Education Asia

Often baby changing facilities are located in female restrooms, which can be a big problem for men. This article follows a recent movement in the US called the “Squat for Change” parent equality movement. Even though most people would support this as a great idea there are a lot of existing constraints on businesses and government in making this change. It has become true that many more fathers take an active role in caring for the young children but many buildings are old and did not build these facilities into the men’s restrooms.

It would be a good idea, in my view, if modern building regulations were changed to require that changing facilities be made available in both male and female toilets. However, changing existing facilities is going to be a much more challenging thing to do.
