As any teacher will tell you, it can be tough in the classroom (for a variety of reasons), and the level of respect a teacher commands in different countries around the world varies widely. In the top ten countries where teachers enjoy the greatest “culture of respect,” Asian countries take seven of the ten top spots. A whopping 81% of respondents to the survey in China believe that students respect their teachers. On the bottom end of the scale is the perceived level of status for teachers in Brazil, Israel and Italy.
