'We're at breaking point' - will UK scientists' big ideas survive Brexit?

By ITS Education Asia

Brexit is having far reaching implications for so many aspects of UK life, including a surprising effect on scientific research. There are numerous concerns being raised by UK scientists about what will happen to their research projects once their access to European funding is cut. The problem is further worsened by “Brain Drain” as top scientists from other European countries leave the UK in search of more stable positions in other EU countries. Added to this many EU universities were engaged in joint study programs with their UK partners, and the future of these programs is now in doubt.

The future for scientific research in the UK and the implications for future advancement s in a large amount of scientific areas are looking like they may become another victim of Brexit.

The longer the uncertainty drags on over what type of Brexit the UK will have the more problems whole sections of the UK economy and society will face.
