On becoming a teacher:
I became a teacher because I enjoy making complicated concepts easy to understand. I also enjoy working with students and making a positive difference to their educational lives.
I love seeing students’ eyes light up when they finally understand a difficult concept.
People I find inspirational and why:
I was inspired by Richard Feynman, who had a remarkable gift for explaining complex topics through unique analogies. He could make even the most complex topics simple and accessible.
I was inspired by an old master at Marlborough College. He tutored me when I was a young boy and taught with great patience and understanding.
Top tip to younger self:
I would tell my younger self: “Focus on one thing at a time, work efficiently rather than simply working long hours, and master the techniques of studying itself. And I’d add: buy a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones sooner rather than later”
