About Me
I am Jiatong (Annie) Han, a lifelong learner and self-reflector who enjoys exploring the intersection of STEM and social sciences through the lens of empathy and logic. I am detail-oriented, logical, rational, and objective, making me the go-to person in my friend group to discuss issues, organize team members’ thoughts in student council, and be STEM-inclined when considering majors. I envision myself continuing to satiate her love of logic and enhancing that capacity in others, whether as a professor, lawyer, or humanitarian, with my motivation in hand.
Project Description
My 2023 UNITAR Youth Ambassador Asia-Pacific Program initiative was called Jewelwise. Many unemployed women in Myanmar can make money from making and selling jewelry, but they are suffering from economic recession, heavy loans/debt, and a lack of a certain level of financial management skills. Therefore, Jewelwise aims to give women in Myanmar equal opportunities to earn and manage their properties, saving residents in Myanmar from a severe recession with SDG 5, Gender Equality, and SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Achievements Since UNITAR:
Since graduating from the UNITAR ambassador program, I have been invited to the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum 2024. I was awarded finalist in The Planetizen University Youth Design Challenge, organized by the LearningPlanet Institute, which aimed to foster innovative approaches to education that can help address global challenges. I also showcased my other project CereGen at the Learning Planet Festival 2024, which celebrates transformative education initiatives.
