Ayana Sinton

About Me

I am Ayana Sinton, a grade 10 student at Hiroshima International School in Japan. Much of my time outside of class and club activities is dedicated to reading, any genre from fiction to philosophy to random Wikipedia articles. My lifelong engagement in written word has influenced almost every aspect of my life, creating my core beliefs and shaping my interests. Reading has introduced me to topics in fields like history and physical science that I otherwise would not have encountered, and engendered in me a curiosity and taste for a wide variety of subjects. In the future, I hope to be able to utilise my interdisciplinary knowledge to do my part in creating a sustainable, equitable world.

Project Description

My project is a charity store that collects clothes and resells them to parents. The store is a pay-what-you-can model, where customers can pay however much they’re able to for the items they want. The generated profit will be used to donate to local charities and expand the store. In the future, my hope is to create more locations, diversify the products, and offer more services. This project focuses on the SDG goals 1,11, and 12, but also has ties to 13,14 and 15.
