Julian Yang

About Me

Julian is a 9th grade student that attends Hong Kong International School, and he has excelled academically, and has received honors roll with distinction during his time in HKIS, which displays his academic ability and his dedication to his studies. Julian has a wide range of hobbies and interests. He enjoys a variety of sports, primarily running, being on the Cross Country team in school. Additionally, he enjoys art, such as painting and drawing, demonstrating his creativity and passion for artistic mediums. His artwork was selected for the Hong Kong 2024 City Art Fair. His artwork advocates for biodiversity within Hong Kong. Julian has participated in numerous service events, including coaching kids in need or kindness walks, which provides supplies around the city.

Julian has a passion for the environment and hopes to help improve and support biodiversity through his project.

Project Description

EarthWise is a social enterprise that helps educate people on biodiversity and improve environmental sustainability, in particular focusing on how to combat land degradation through various activities. EarthWise’s activities will be split into 3 categories. Advocate, where we’ll utilize social media and art to promote biodiversity. Educate, where we’ll host community activities like workshops and provide information on land degradation. And Activate, where we’ll organize hands-on activities that will combat land degradation, such as planting trees in degraded areas. We have a planned trip to the Gobi Desert next year.
