About Me
My name is Thomas Lee and I am a Grade 10 student studying at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing the cello, the piano, and reading. Meanwhile, I discovered my passion for chemistry and biology, which has inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field.
Through my love for reading, I actively seek knowledge about medical advancements and health issues that affect our society today. I am particularly interested in exploring how technology can enhance patient care and improve access to healthcare services. Growing up in Hong Kong, I have witnessed the significant burden on the healthcare system, which further motivates me to contribute to solutions that can alleviate these challenges.
Project Description
My 2024 UNITAR Youth Ambassador Asia-Pacific Program initiative is titled Mind Matters. Through my observations and research into students' stress levels, I became aware of how little high school students know about the importance of managing stress. This initiative seeks to raise awareness and provide education on essential coping skills, ensuring that everyone in our community can maintain good mental health and well-being. Therefore, we can promote lasting change for future generations by empowering students with these strategies. Finally, this initiative aligns closely with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG #3, Good Health and Well-Being, and SDG #4, Quality Education.
