About Me
I am Kyle Hui, and I am a current student at St. Paul’s Co-educational School who is passionate about global affairs and policy-making. I have participated in programs like UNICEF and developed a deeper understanding of social advocacy and social change. I am also part of different student-led organizations, as I love to share more knowledge with the general public. Besides these, I have been an avid fencing player for a couple of years. My vision is to bring proper education to young students in my community.
Project Description
The Bright Lab is a student-led organization aiming to provide STEAM education for children from ages 6-10 through hands-on experimentation and product-making. Recognizing the lack of STEAM education support and the expanding education disparity among students in Hong Kong, this initiative aims to tackle SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Unlike conventional teaching methods, this initiative adopts a ‘learning by doing’ approach to make the learning process interactive, comprehensive, and fun. Through creating practical projects, students can not only grasp scientific principles but also develop their creativity and team-building skills.
Moreover, in response to rising climate problems, we hope to instill in children a unique ‘climate-conscious perspective’ by integrating sustainability into our curriculum. Ultimately, this initiative hopes to bridge the gap in education level disparity in Hong Kong and nurture responsible future innovators.
