About Me
My name is Syed Sibte Hasan Shah, a UNITAR Youth Ambassador and aspiring global health leader from rural Chakwal. My journey began in the emergency ward of a local hospital, where I supported doctors in critical situations and saw firsthand how limited health awareness can turn minor issues into life-threatening emergencies. Graduating first among 168 students, I dedicated my gap year to hospital volunteering, teaching biology and literacy to village children, and mentoring youth. These experiences inspired my commitment to pursue Biology and Nursing. Through the UNITAR Asia-Pacific Programme, I collaborate on SDG 3 and SDG 4 initiatives focused on preventive health and education. I am passionate about youth empowerment, community well-being, and developing evidence-based solutions for underserved families.
Project Description
The Youth & Family Well-Being Initiative is my community-based project focused on improving preventive health awareness in underserved rural areas. Inspired by real emergencies I witnessed during hospital volunteering, the initiative brings practical, youth-led health education to schools and families. Through workshops and interactive sessions, it teaches hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, and early recognition of medical emergencies. Built on a clear impact model and timeline, the project empowers children as health ambassadors and equips families with life-saving knowledge. I plan to expand the initiative by training youth volunteers, creating accessible educational toolkits, and partnering with local clinics to strengthen long-term community well-being.
