About Me
Humphrey is a Grade 9 student at Zhuhai No. 8 Middle School, who has always embraced a people-centered philosophy. He naturally responds to the needs around him with gentleness, letting kindness become the backdrop of daily interactions without seeking recognition—believing that fostering a comfortable and reassuring environment for others is a matter worth cherishing. This quiet concern has made him a reliable and comforting presence in both the campus and community.
To translate this goodwill into tangible action, he has built a refined collaborative network: he works closely with the school’s counselor to develop relaxed, peer-friendly emotional support approaches that integrate seamlessly into daily interactions; collaborates with Zhuhai WISEMAN(WSM),Investment Co., Ltd.(Zhuhai Zhenwei Investment Co., Ltd.) to secure tailored resources that align with campus and community needs, ensuring effective resource allocation; and partners closely with Professor Xiao Lin, an education expert from Zhuhai City Polytechnic, to refine action directions with professional insights, making student-led initiatives more targeted and grounded.
As the leader of ZHUHAI STUDENT ACTION GROUP (ZSAG), he has recently overseen the launch of the TRIDENT project. This initiative aims to consolidate the team’s collective concerns for the campus and community into structured, sustainable actions, leveraging group synergy to amplify the impact of individual kindness.
Beyond practical endeavors, Humphrey explores literature, opera, and other art forms. He draws gentle inspiration from the emotional depth of literary works and the expressive power of opera—these artistic insights enrich his perspective, enabling him to approach needs with greater empathy and resilience.
Project Description
TRIDENT is a student-led initiative by the Zhuhai Youth Action Group, focused on offering emotional support to Zhuhai’s junior high students—helping them tackle peer discomfort, academic-cycle anxiety, and family communication alienation. Its philosophy mirrors a trident’s three prongs: uninterrupted listening, positive encouragement, and lighthearted interactions, easing teenagers’ hesitation and heaviness when expressing negative emotions.
Beyond simple companionship, TRIDENT is tailored to junior high students’ daily lives, establishing safe emotional expression channels, peer connection networks, and psychological resilience-building platforms to bridge the gap between their emotional distress and effective support.
Now in pilot at Zhuhai No. 8 Middle School, TRIDENT has initially built a workable service framework. Core objectives include: delivering regular emotional support for daily distress, partnering with school teachers and mental health counselors to engage at least 50% of stressed students, and fostering empathy and self-expression courage via peer activities. A comprehensive impact assessment tracks service reach and participants’ tangible changes in three areas: emotional expression initiative, peer trust, and stress relief effectiveness.
Originating from the group’s 2019 marine conservation project, TRIDENT was officially launched on October 25, 2025, after the team identified the urgent need for junior high students’ emotional support through in-depth research.
Looking ahead, TRIDENT has a phased plan: Within 1-2 years, it will enhance pilot services at Zhuhai No. 8 Middle School—adding recess/lunch offline sessions and training more peer volunteers—to become students’ top emotional support choice. Within 2-3 years, it will expand to 1-2 local junior highs, developing portable stress relief guides and online encouragement platforms using mental health counselors’ data to reach passive support-seekers. This verifies that peer empathy and companionship can effectively bridge the gap between teenagers’ emotional needs and insufficient existing support.
