RAIN TREES KINDERGARTEN

By ITS EDUCATION ASIA

'There is a kindergarten close to the Botanical Gardens in Singapore that is a popular choice for expats. You absolutely have to visit if you are on the search for a kindergarten for your little one. You will see happy, engaged children in bright and colorful classrooms. Each classroom is child centered and provides a stimulating environment for learning.’
(Anne Murphy, ITS Education Asia)

Rain Trees Kindergarten in Singapore is a small, family-orientated, independent school which caters to the international community. Established in 1999, it is conveniently located at 60 Kheam Hock Road off the Bukit Timah Road, providing a fun, friendly and challenging environment for children in the age range of 2-6.

The name Rain Trees was chosen to reflect the school’s deep roots in Singapore and the goal of nurturing each child so they can grow to their full potential.

The school is a detached property spread over 3 floors and on almost 7,500 square feet of land with a large garden area and swimming pool.

The intimate school with just over 80 children makes sure little ones receive individual attention from teachers. The inside of the center is warm and calm (no primary colors jump out at you). There is space to be alone, yet the environment encourages children to interact with others and is both stimulating and challenging.

Rain Trees offers half day and full day programmes tailored for the international community. The emphasis is on learning through play in an environment planned to stimulate discovery, independence and social interaction based on the UK Early Schools Foundation Stage (EFYS).

Children are encouraged to help themselves, take initiative and become increasingly independent in order to develop self-esteem and social competence. It is important that children develop a sense of trust and are comfortable in their environment. The learning and development of the children is not just confined to the internal setting of the kindergarten but is extended to the large and safe outdoor play area. Skills are embedded into all aspects of the day, making each moment a valuable learning experience.

Teachers work with each child to help them feel supported in their learning styles, safe in their environment, and nurtured in their uniqueness.
