About Me
My name is Bernice Jim, a Grade 9 student studying at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. Apart from my interests being debating, music, playing badminton and volunteering, I am incredibly passionate about pursuing a career in the medical industry. Moreover, I believe that access to quality healthcare and education is a fundamental right that every person deserves.
Project Description
My 2023 UNITAR Youth Ambassador Asia-Pacific Program initiative is called Our Future Health. Through many volunteering opportunities, it opened my eyes to how little children, especially the underprivileged of our society know about healthy habits. My initiative strives to raise awareness and inspire action to ensure that everyone in our community is able to lead a healthy life. This starts with educating our future, primary school students. By doing this, it will be certain that trans-generational change will happen in our future society. Hence, this initiative is closely linked to multiple SDGs, with the main ones being SDG#3, Good Health and Well Being, and SDG#4, Quality Education.
Achievements Since UNITAR
I am now part of the Kids4Kids ALT team, and an executive of Neurodiversity HK. I have also been part of the founding team for our school’s Medical Society (CDNIS Medical Society), and we’re in the process of planning for our first event!
