North London Collegiate School (Singapore) is planned to open in August 2020 as a co-educational day school for students aged 3-18, bringing the NLCS ethos of rigorous scholarship, co-curricular enrichment and outstanding pastoral care to Singapore.
It is planned that NLCS (Singapore) will be an International Baccalaureate Continuum School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP).
North London Collegiate School (NLCS), is one of the UK's most pre-eminent schools. Founded in 1850 by the Victorian educationalist Frances Mary Buss, it has provided an exceptional education for its students for over 165 years.
The School has a record of outstanding academic achievements whilst encouraging the development of individualism and a pioneering spirit among its students. NLCS (UK) examination results place the school consistently at, or near the top of, all major performance league tables in the UK. Since introducing the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in 2004, students have scored an average of over 40 points, placing them amongst the most successful schools in the world.
North London Collegiate School embraces an outward-looking, international perspective, and it is entirely consistent with this ethos that they have embarked on the exciting project of opening a School in the thriving international city of Singapore.
The close relationship between the UK School and its branches in Jeju, Dubai, and now in Singapore, is mutually beneficial, providing opportunities for staff and students to share ideas and make personal connections. NLCS (UK) provides full support to its overseas schools in the recruitment and training of teaching staff; thus, ensuring that the school ethos is maintained.
Principal-Designate, Mr. Paul Friend, has been leading NLCS Jeju for the last five years. Under his leadership, Jeju has grown significantly, both in terms of student enrolment and academic results, with almost 20% of this year's cohort receiving offers from Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League Universities.
