Why study IB History?
You can go on to university courses like an honours degrees in History, or go on to degrees like
Politics, Law, English Literature, Economics or Geography. It also opens the doors to BTEC
vocational qualifications in Media (Journalism) or Travel and Tourism. The skills learned by
studying History are relevant to many careers, like journalism, libraries, national and local
government and government administration, or careers related to History in museums, galleries,
heritage sites, record offices and in archives and teaching.
What other subjects should I take with IB History?
History is best paired with social sciences such as Geography, Philosophy, Politics or World
Religions.
For more information on specific university requirements to different countries see our UCAS page and our US Admissions pages.
