What do I enjoy most about tutoring?😁
In my experience, interacting with students is the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring. By creating an exciting and engaging atmosphere, the potential for students to improve soars rapidly. I heavily encourage independence from my students, in two main ways: firstly, by asking for any active feedback on lessons to improve, and secondly, by beginning each tutoring lesson with a brief 5-10 min session discussing the students' progression and what they have learned over the course of the week. Over the course of the lesson, I enjoy encouraging the students to express themselves, lead lessons and also explain their thought processes.
My Strengths as Tutor💪
My personal strength as a tutor is the ability to look beyond purely academic performances and encourage personal growth. Academic performances are key in tutoring, however, personal growth is just as important in my opinion. One of my main strengths is creating an engaging, relaxed but professional atmosphere so a student is eager to learn. Student motivation is critical to developing solid foundations and helps promote a deeper approach to learning for a variety of subjects. By providing constant feedback back-and-forth between the tutor and the student, progress is ensured for all parties involved, and that learning is being fostered in all aspects of the students' life.
Most important things I can do for a student🏅
One of the most important things a tutor can do is, firstly, to implement a hassle-free personalised approach, free from judgement, allows each student to ensure they flourish. This is the first crucial stage to supporting students towards self-realisation and achievement (both academically and in terms of personal growth). This personalised approach should seek to create a fun, enjoyable and open environment to enhance the students' learning ability, but should then be supported by a tutor who is willing to double-check and triple-check with the student to ensure they grasp all the core concepts/lesson material successfully.

BA First Class Honours in History and Politics
I'm a hardworking, self-motivated and passionate recent history and politics graduate from the University of Keele. I'm currently willing to explore a variety of wide opportunities to enhance my skills, however, I have a special interest in history and education. I aim to inspire the next generation of students and to share my passion for history.
I would relish the opportunity to become a history tutor and build on my tutoring experience in a prestigious and professional tutoring environment.
Since returning to Hong Kong following university, I am fortunate to gain experience tutoring English privately to local students, albeit on a small scale. I've learnt quickly to begin adapting my lesson plans to different students' needs. For example, one of my students, Marco, suffered from confidence issues despite strong academic performances in reading and writing. Therefore, I adapted my lesson plan to include discussions on a range of interests, from sports to politics.
Other experiences in tutoring included an assessment in my final year of university, in the module "Modern Russia". This involved a student-led seminar assessment, where I had to teach the class about aspects of Putin's wars. I employed a wide range of teaching methods during the seminar, ranging from a quiz to analysing videos. Even though leading class seminars at university differs wildly from one-to-one tutoring, my first class certification on the assessments demonstrates my teaching skills.
