Curriculum

Through three bespoke pathways the needs of students of all abilities are catered for. Pathway 1 is the mainstream pathway, whilst students in Pathway 2 follow the mainstream curriculum in a smaller setting, with adaptations made where needed. Pathway 3 offers the highest level of educational support and students follow an individualised curriculum in smaller settings. Integration and twinning are important parts of the school day and students across the three pathways share many learning opportunities to foster a truly inclusive mindset.

DCIS starts in the Early Years Foundation stage with the Nursery and Reception years where we provide structured learning through play in a Reggio Emilia inspired environment. Children then progress through Key Stages 1 and 2, following a well-planned and tested programme of study in a range of core and extension subjects. Through the International Primary Curriculum, DCIS is able to teach the English National Curriculum in a thematic way.

Students who do not speak English as their first language can access additional support through English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme up to, and including, Year 9. English levels are measured by using assessments that link to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) so that we can best meet the needs of each student. The students are assessed in their speaking, listening, reading and writing proficiency in English and the scores determine the level of support needed.

The Secondary School offers a balanced educational programme that spans across humanities, mathematics, arts, languages and sciences, based on the English National Curriculum. In Key Stage 4 students sit examinations in a range of subjects, earning iGCSE qualifications, which are recognised worldwide. The Sixth Form offers two pathways; the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and BTEC International Diploma Levels 2 and 3 in Business, in preparation for any future study options DCIS students may follow. ASDAN qualifications are also offered to our SEN learners.

Inside The School

Parent Reviews

“Our first physical visit to the school was just amazing. The gap between expectation and reality can be very large. Fortunately for us Dover court more than met our expectations! From a lovely campus to great teachers and an awesome environment, Dover has it all! In some schools the focus is often only on academics. Our initial feedback is that Dover Court focuses more on the holistic development of children, which is so essential in today’s world. IQ and EQ are both balanced in this institution. As parents we could not have asked for anything else.” - Agarwal Family, Year 10

“We chose Dover Court as our children were students at the NAE School in Hong Kong. Moving countries is a very stressful time for the family however the transition between schools has been brilliant. The leadership team at the school in Hong Kong helped to facilitate the required testing for our children and the admissions team in Singapore were excellent at keeping us informed on how the applications were progressing. The main attraction of the school was the quality of teaching, and professionalism that was demonstrated from our first interactions, expressing and managing a curriculum that was familiar to us, as parents.” - Clark Family, Years 6 and 9

“We were looking for an international school that not only cares about good academic results but also is nurturing and cares about the well-being of the students. We want to give our children the opportunity to have friends from various countries and cultural backgrounds. DCIS is able to provide the necessary support to our children and focus on their individual needs socially and academically. Dover Court’s well-structured curriculum was of great appeal, exposing the children to a broad range of interests and skills beyond the classroom. The sports program has also been excellent. Now we see children who are happy to go to school, excited to learn, have kind friends and classmates, as well as supportive teachers. We’d recommend Dover Court International School to anyone looking for quality education with caring and knowledgeable teachers and a welcoming, diverse community of students.” - Lee Family – Years 4 and 7
