About The School

GSIS in Hong Kong is unique among Germany’s international schools. The school offers two streams of education – one stream in German, reflecting German curriculum and taught in German. It was established in 1969 by German Swiss families who were looking for a bilingual German-English education in an international setting. It is the only school in Hong Kong providing a German curriculum, and it is certified as an Excellent German School Abroad by the German government’s Central Agency for Schools Abroad. It is also renowned for academic excellence in teaching and student achievement. It has grown into one of the most highly selective and leading international schools in Hong Kong. As a dual-language schools, GSIS operates two parallel streams, from Kindergarten to Secondary school and prepares for the German International Abitur and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, following IGCSE examinations in Year 11. In addition, there is the option to pursue a dual-professional training through the schools’ Business College.
