About The School
The Japanese International School (JIS) is small dual-stream primary school located in the New Territories. It has over 22 nationalities (22% are Japanese) – and only170 students are in the international section. The school shares its campus with a Japanese section of the school, and two others also exist in Happy Valley (Junior school) and Quarry Bay(High School). It is common for Year 6 students from JIS to move on to International College Hong Kong. JIS offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), and has set high standards for the quality of its education to create an environment filled with creativity, and inspiration. JIS takes advantage of its location by bringing the outdoors in and the inside out as often as possible with trips to forests and country parks. Learning Japanese is not compulsory for international students – these students can select Mandarin.
