About The School
Founded in 2007, THS has grown to three campuses. The Garden secondary school, located in Ap Lei Chau, opened in 2016.
THS seeks to develop students’ natural love of learning, preparing them with the skills they need to achieve in the 21st century. The curriculum is designed to enable students to thrive academically but offer an emotionally safe and secure environment in which they grow into active, positive adult citizen.
THS adopts a very unconventional approach to learning that welcomes both gifted students and children with additional learning needs. The curriculum differs to the norm by using ‘THS’s proven model of highly individualized and differentiated instruction in a collaborative learning environment with a strong focus on critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and teamwork. Students are provided ample opportunities outside of their classrooms to explore their talents and skills. They work aboard the school’s Black Dolphin, ketch, an outdoor classroom where they study the marine environment. There are initiatives such as World Peace Games and TED-style monthly symposiums.
