About The School
Owned by the Yew Chung Education Foundation, YCIS Hong Kong is part of a network of schools in various major cities in China, and Silicon Valley in the US. YCIS is one of seven Private Independent Schools (PIS) in Hong Kong. YCIS receives government assistance and must set aside at least 10% of their total school fee income for scholarships and other financial assistance programmes and must admit at least 70% local students. The scholarship fund at YCIS is for student from Year 7 to 13 and covers full or partial tuition fees. It is opened to students who excel overall, or in art and design, music, the performing arts, or sport. In the Secondary section, teaching is firmly grounded in the British curriculum up until Year 11 when students take IGCSEs; and new students have the option to study the IB Pathway Programme which allows them to move on the ID Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13. Students have daily language lessons and regular cultural activities and culture studies courses for all lower secondary students. The school’s secondary campus is modern and purpose built with well-resourced classrooms and a Global Learning Centre, which has a multimedia centre.
